Gagnon Line Construction received the Valley Chamber of Commerce 2014 Business of The Year Award

For the first time since 2011, a company from the Grand Falls area received the "Business of the Year" at the ceremony on October 23 at the E. & P. Sénéchal Centre. Gagnon Construction company and its owner, Miguel Gagnon, have received the "BUSINESS OF THE YEAR" award by the Valley Chamber of Commerce. "It always impressive to win an award like this. It means that we are recognized for our services and expertise. I myself travel to the United States and elsewhere to meet people and get contracts. We now have several players who use our services, especially during a disaster" said Mr. Gagnon.

The company was founded in 1999 with two employees. Today, Mr. Gagnon has forty employees. The company specializes in electrical installations. "I have 35 trucks and equipment necessary to build new power lines including poles. We have maintenance contracts and we also work in the US during and after storm events that have caused widespread outages. For example, we spent 21 days on Long Island, in the New York area to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. We were sixty workers. It was like a war zone" he said. Currently, Mr. Gagnon is working on a large project in the Saint Quentin area to supply power to a  maple syrup Co-op. This is a project of 1600 poles and more than 80 kilometers of 3 phase line.

"For my business, this is a huge honor. I have other expansion plans in mind for the near future. We will travel to wherever our sevices are required." said Mr. Gagnon.
